Welcome to our Photo Detective series! The Townships Sun is asking help from history buffs to discover the who, what, when, and where of historical photos unearthed in the magazine’s photo archives.
If you have any information or possible answers about any of the images below, please contact us.
Photo #1: An unidentified village. That’s all we are able to say! Does the church ring a bell? What village might this be a photograph of?
Photo #2: A man playing Uilleann pipes, the national bagpipe of Ireland. Do you recognize this person? Do you know in what context this image was taken?
Photo #3: Another unidentified location. Here, we can see trolly tracks on a street. Does this place look familiar to you? Where might this have been?
Photo #4: A group photo in front for the Canadian Pacific Railway. Do you recognize any of these well-dressed folks or know what year this might have taken place in? Maybe the tanks behind the train can serve as a clue.
